Mabank ISD Choral Department

Catherine Lindsley is in her 25th year as Choral Director of Mabank ISD.  Teaching primarily at the High School, Mrs. Lindsley assists at the Jr. High School and is the principal director of the MISD Honor Choir.  During Mrs. Lindsley’s tenure, the number of students involved in the choral program has quadrupled and the choirs have grown in ability and excellence.  2017 brought the seventh consecutive UIL Sweepstakes trophy to the High School Varsity Chorale.  Mrs. Lindsley holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the Conservatory of Music in Kansas City, Missouri and a Master of Music Degree in Vocal Performance from Texas A&M-Commerce.  She has been married to Kelly (known as Mr. Kelly or Papa-K by the students) for 27 years and enjoys spending time with Emma, (their dog), cooking, playing the piano, and visiting with friends and family.  Kelly is a singer and songwriter and travels on weekends giving concerts in churches across Texas.  He is the piano accompanist and leads sectional rehearsals for the choirs.

Mrs. Lindsley is assisted by Mrs. Hilary Strum, an excellent choral teacher, who teaches primarily 6th-8th grade choirs. They are excelling and growing.  Mrs. Strum is a graduate of the University of Southern Mississippi.  She is married to Aaron Strum, who teaches 5th grade music in the district.  The Strums are proud dog-parents of Louie, their two-year old pug.
