Welcome to a new school year.  I am so excited to be back to start a new and exciting year after a wonderful summer.

Let me give you a brief history of myself.  I grew up in Brookline, Massachusetts.  I attended Northeastern University in Boston, and then moved to Texas after graduation. I have a Master's Degree from TWU in Denton.  I started my teaching career as a bilingual teacher at the elementary level before moving to the Mabank area.  In addition, I taught at the elementary level in Mabank before moving up the high school.

I enjoy running and working out as well as reading a good book. Also, I crochet "off and on", though I am not very good at it.  Movie going is also one of my favorite pastimes.

Spanish 2

Spanish 2 and 2 P-AP is a continuation of Spanish 1 as well as 1 P-AP.

The first nine weeks students will review what was taught in Spanish 1.  Additionally, as time progresses, students will build their fluency and level of comprehension with simple conversation, using authentic resources,  as well as new grammar concepts.

During the second nine weeks, students will continue to build their level of fluency in comprehension, authentice resources as well as being introduced to more grammar and its correct usage.

The 3rd nine weeks will be a continuation of their comprehension in speaking a second language as well as more complex grammar and its usage.

The final nine weeks students will learn vocabulary as related to more authentic resources.  Students will be required to use their skills in asking and answering questions in speaking, writing, and using  correct grammar.

The first nine weeks students will review what was taught in Spanish 1.  Additionally, as time progresses, students will build their fluency and level of comprehension with simple conversation as well as new grammar concepts. Cultural connections will be made with examination of ethnic art.

During the second nine weeks, students will continue to build their level of fluency in comprehension as well as being introduced to more complex grammar and its usage.  An overview of cultural childhood practices will be made to discuss thematic vocabulary.

The 3rd nine weeks will be a continuation of their comprehension in speaking a second language as well as more complex grammar and its usage.  Students will learn how to give and follow directions and follow up with a scavenger hunt.

The final nine weeks students will learn vocabulary as related to interviewing for a job.  Students will be required to use their skills in asking and answering questions in speaking, writing, and using grammar. In this time period students will practice interviewing techniques to make cultural connections to the work place.

Throughout the school year, students in P/AP classes will be required  to do projects to further aid their understanding of using a second language.
