MHS's Career & Technical Education Program
Mabank High School’s Career & Technical Education (CTE) program is designed to offer rigorous curriculum to assist students in becoming college and career ready and prepare them for a lifetime of success. Our programs provide opportunities for students to gain entry level employability skills, earn industry certifications or licensure, and/or continue their education in a post-secondary environment. Every student can benefit from one or more of the many opportunities available through the 13 career clusters offered through Mabank ISD’s CTE program. Our programs of study include course sequences/pathways in the following areas:

Career & Technical Student Certifications
Students earning certifications receive industry credentials that certify employability skills and provide an advantage in today’s workplace. Students with certifications are able to apply for higher wage, part-time or full-time employment regardless if they are entering the workforce directly out of high school or if they are college bound. Many of the certifications serve as building blocks to post-secondary education and may decrease the number of remedial or introductory courses required for a post-secondary degree.
At Mabank High School, industry certifications are offered to students in most career clusters during a student’s junior or senior year. Just like dual credit, earning industry certifications in high school is more cost effective for students. Certification fees apply, but are offered to students at a discounted rate.
Career & Technical Student Organizations (CTSOs)
MHS’s CTE co-curricular student organizations are an integral part of classroom instruction. These organizations allow students an opportunity to participate in educational and leadership activities that incorporate classroom instruction with skills that are learned in a successful career/business environment. Merging classroom theory with real-world business situations allows students the opportunity to develop skills that will carry over into their professional and personal lives after high school.
